There is a lot of motorsport expertise behind the Plusline Racing Team. The Porsche racing team is led by Thomas Müskens and former DTM driver and WTCC works driver Peter Terting, who has already competed in the GT Winter Series in a GT3 car himself.

The team, which is based in Goch, right on the Dutch border, will be racing a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in Estoril. However, the racing team will face strong competition in the Cup 2 category, as the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup vehicle class will once again be one of the strongest vehicle classes in the GT Winter Series this year.

The car will be driven by Joachim Bölting. The full-time tax consultant has established himself as an ambitious gentleman driver in GT racing in recent years. Bölting recently competed in the ADAC GT4 Germany and the GT4 European Series and was successful in both series.

PROsport Racing is best known from the German Endurance Championship and the ADAC GT4 Germany. Here, team boss Christoph Esser uses the Aston Martin Vantage. For the 2023 season, PROsport has acquired two more Aston Martin cars and will compete in several GT4 series at once. Says Esser, “This gives us the freedom to assign cars to the individual series and thus prepare even more specifically.”

The team will use the winter to intensively practice in the GT Winter Series. “This is ideal for us,” says Esser, “because the GTWS runs exactly the same race format as the GT4 series, which takes place in the summer. This gives our drivers a chance to get to grips with each other. I know from experience that drivers who stay in training in the winter start the summer at a better level. That’s exactly our goal.”

PROsport has just announced a women’s team as the driver duo for the summer of 2023. Gabriela Jilková will share an Aston Martin GT4 with the fast Frenchwoman Célia Martin. The latter lives in Adenau, not far from the Nürburgring, and was currently racing mainly on the Nordschleife.

“I have been working for some time to expand my activities beyond those at the Nürburgring. I now want to do that together with ‘Quick Gaby’,” says Célia. Esser is also in talks with other drivers, however, because ideally more than one PROsport Aston Martin will compete in the GT Winter Series.

PROsport will be present at the GT Winter Series with one or more Aston Martin Vantage cars to get the team and drivers in the right frame of mind for their upcoming events and to get used to the ADAC GT4 Germany and the GT4 European Series under live conditions.

PROsport is also in negotiation with both ladies – so it is not excluded that Gabriela and Célia will be seen at the GT Winter Series. For Gaby this would not be new, because she was already once champion and once vice-champion of the GT Winter Series and knows almost all tracks.

We wish her every success!

Drivers interested in joining the multiple champion team are welcome to contact team manager Christoph Esser personally at info@prosport-racing.de

PTT Racing will also be competing in the GT Winter Series in winter 2024. Last year, the Polish racing team competed with Igor Klaja and Mateusz Lisowski and achieved strong results in the highly competitive class with a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The duo drove to class victory in the endurance race at the season opener in Portimão and a strong second place in the overall standings.

In 2024, the racing team will compete with a truly large line-up. The team has entered no fewer than four Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars for the season opener in Estoril. Hubert Dametko, Przemyslaw Bienkowski, Igor Klaja and Mateusz Lisowski will each drive one of the one-make cup cars from Zuffenhausen.

As the last seasons of the GT Winter Series have already proven, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars in the large starting field of the GEDLICH Racing racing series show spectacular “races within a race”, which arouse enthusiasm among fans and participants!

Uwe Lauer and his team are a permanent fixture in the GT Winter Series paddock. His team, “Die Biermacher.Racing,” not only puts particularly nicely designed race cars on the grid, but the team is also responsible for many a good mood during the evenings in the paddock thanks to its sponsor, the Pfungstädter Brewery.

Now Uwe Lauer has decided to contest the entire 2022/2023 GT Winter Series season.

His race car: the proven fast Ferrari 488 GT3, which he already drove last season and shared a time or two with the fast Francesco Lopez in Endurance.

Lauer: “We enjoy escaping the winter and racing in such beautiful locations. This season we want to bring all our experience to bear and race for podiums as often as possible.”

Van der Horst Motorsport has been one of the loyal teams in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe for many years. The Dutch racing team competes in the popular international one-make cup with several cars and motivated gentleman drivers.

This season, the team is making its debut in the GT Winter Series. The racing team will contest the GEDLICH Racing series with one of the spectacular Lamborghini Hurácan Super Trofeo EVO2s.

In the 2024 season, Van der Horst Motorsport will face several more Lamborghini Hurácan Super Trofeo EVO2s in the GT Winter Series. This will give the team the opportunity to compete directly with several rivals and start the summer season well prepared.

Experienced LMP3 driver Javier Ibran Pardo will contest the 2022/2023 GT Winter Series season. The Valencia-born driver has already competed in the past two GTWS seasons and is therefore one of the drivers with particularly extensive experience on the Spanish and Portuguese tracks.

“I’m particularly looking forward to my home race in Valencia – I think it’s fabulous that the GTWS has extended its season to this great track and attractive location,” says Ibran Pardo, who also wants to make the Valencia race a sponsorship event.

The Ligier LMP3 will once again be fielded by the Spanish BE Motorsport team. The BE team has a lot of experience with the flat prototypes and describes itself as the representative of amateur drivers and teams, although the appearance and vehicle preparation certainly meet professional standards.

This is demonstrated not least by several GTWS podium positions and an overall victory by Javier Ibran Pardo in the past seasons of the GT Winter Series.

With its colourful and eye-catching designs, RACAR Motorsport is one of the visual eye-catchers of the GEDLICH Racing Winter Series. This year, the Portuguese racing team from the coastal town of Famões near Lisbon will once again be competing in two racing series. Season starts on the home track in Lisbon.

In the GT Winter Series, the team will field a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992 generation). Leandro Martins and Austrian Porsche veteran Dieter Svepes – who supported the Kapfinger twins at Huber Racing in the previous season – will take turns at the wheel of the Zuffenhausen sports car.

The racing team will also compete in the GT4 Winter Series. RACAR Motorsport will contest at least the season opener in Estoril with an Aston Martin Vantage GT4. Brazilian Roberto Faria has been confirmed as the first driver. However, further starts are not ruled out if there is success and interest from drivers.

One of the most experienced German race directors will become the central race director of the GT Winter Series. Werner Aichinger, known not only as Michael Schumacher’s companion, but also as the director of national and international race series for decades, will be dedicating himself to the GTWS from the coming winter.

Markus Gedlich, Managing Director of GTWS promoter Gedlich Racing: “With Werner we are taking another important step in terms of ensuring permanent quality. Werner will accompany the entire season and lead all races. We are very much looking forward to working together and to exciting and fair races.”

For Aichinger, the task is challenging because both the mix of cars and the colourful field of drivers are hard to find anywhere else.

Aichinger: “I’m looking forward to the international field of the GTWS and to getting to know new tracks. Besides, I’ve been with the GTWS from the very beginning, as I was involved in the conceptual design from the very beginning. That’s why I’m really looking forward to accompanying the whole season. Many of the teams know me – that’s always good for fair race management on an equal footing. In the inaugural season of the GTWS, I was already there once in Portimao. Now I’m looking forward to seeing the series again at all the races.”

The GT Winter Series says welcome!

The GT Winter Series 2021/2022 is history – the organizer Gedlich Racing is already actively involved in the build-up to the coming season. In an interview with the organizers Markus Gedlich and Robin Selbach, we find out what news there will be and what has been learned from the past races.

?: At first glance, it is noticeable that the GT Winter Series offers 50% more dates. Instead of four last year, there will be six races next season. How did this decision come about?

RS: Last season we saw how well the GT Winter Series was received. The concept of combining a lot of testing time with racing appeals to the drivers and offers the teams great opportunities in the off-season. Due to this demand and the wishes of the customers, we have expanded the calendar. It remains compact, however, because there are two back-to-back events (Jerez/Valencia and Navarra/Barcelona), each held on two consecutive weekends. This makes logistics uncomplicated and saves time and money. Travel times are manageable.

?: Which tracks are new in the program?

RS: Valencia and Navarra. Valencia is used by many teams as a test track, because international races are held here and it is very representative for the setup of the race cars. Navarra is a fantastically located track in the north of Spain, which is little known, but is top modern and super equipped. It even has FIA approval as a Formula 1 test track. Our six race event calendar thus offers all the top international circuits of the Iberian Peninsula. In our opinion, this championship can hardly be topped in terms of fun factor.

?: Is there any other news for the new season?

RS: Quite a few. One of the most important is that the GTWS will no longer be integrated into the trackdays of the Endless Summer trackday series, but will get two days of its own. Day 1 will be the GTWS Test Day, and Day 2 will be the GTWS Race Day. This will give teams and drivers the option to test extensively on Day 1 and have a full race day on Day 2.
We have also extended the Endurance to 60 minutes. This will give teams the opportunity to test the same case they find in most GT3 and GT4 race series during the summer season.
In addition, there will be a second race series as part of the GTWS, called the Nevada Cup. Here prototypes from the likes of Radical, Revolution or open KTM will race. This makes the day colorful and also interesting for spectators, because there will be a total of five races (three GTWS, two Nevada Cup).

?: How does it look on the technical side? Will the same vehicle classes be on the grid?

MG: We’ve seen that the GT3, GT4 and Cup car classes are strong at all the rounds. Therefore, we have decided to streamline the vehicle classes so that in the future the focus will be on these vehicles. The Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport class is very successful. These find exactly the field of activity with us that they otherwise so often miss. But the LMP cars also find the best conditions here and fit ideally into the field with their own class.

?: One point of criticism from some teams was the issue of balance of performance. What exactly was the bone of contention and how do you address this issue?

MG: For us as organizers of the GT Winter Series, it was not trivial to get a homogeneous field together. But we have succeeded respectably this season. We always listen well to the teams and have noticed that one of the biggest wishes is even better technical equality. We will therefore have an optimized Balance of Performance in our adapted set of rules, which above all will be more closely controlled. We are in the process of working this out and are putting a lot of effort into it because we realize that this step is important to take GTWS to the next level.

?: In Barcelona we saw a livestream for the first time in the GT Winter Series and were surprised how professional it came across. Is that planned again for 2022/2023?

MG: Absolutely, and in a significantly expanded form. We haven’t yet decided which races we will cover, but there will definitely be several. Our media partner nürburgring tv delivered the very best in Barcelona in March – including renowned commentators and presenters. Around seven hours of live coverage is something to be proud of.
Partners can present themselves optimally in our livestream and shape it very well. This offers plenty of space to present their own products, highlight teams and drivers, and deliver the messages a partner wants to address to viewers in interviews. We are currently in the process of getting these partners on board.

?: Finally, who is the GT Winter Series made for and which drivers and teams feel most comfortable here?

MG: Everyone is welcome here, not just professional teams and drivers. Feedback shows that the combination of fair racing, plenty of driving time and a pleasant environment with the associated lifestyle is the combination that goes down particularly well. We want to promote this and at the same time pave the way for even more professional racing and monitoring of the technology. We are convinced that racing can hardly be more beautiful than at the GTWS. We always focus on the drivers and teams and want to provide them with a good time in a professional environment.

?: Thank you for the interview

When you think of the GT Winter Series, you automatically think of Laptime Performance. The team from Finsing in Bavaria has competed in every season of the GEDLICH Racing series to date. After the racing team initially relied on the KTM X-BOW GT4, Laptime Performance has developed into a Porsche expert in recent years and competed with several Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars.

Last season, ambitious gentleman drivers competed with their driver coaches as well as talented youngsters in Simon Eibl’s team. It is precisely this mix that makes the GT Winter Series and its environment so special and popular with the teams and participants.

Laptime Performance will not miss out on the GT Winter Series in winter 2024 and will once again be competing with the 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The team will be relying on its usual mix of gentleman drivers and up-and-coming talent.
