The CV Performance Group will compete in the GT Winter Series with two Mercedes-AMG GT4s.

In the past two years, three championship titles in the GTC Race, as well as top results in the GT Winter Series, the ADAC GT4 Germany and the DTM Trophy have proven that the CV Performance Group is one of the most successful German teams in GT4 racing. Christian Voß’s team will also compete in the Gedlich Racing series in the 2022/2023 season.

At the season opener in Portimão, the team will field two Mercedes-AMG GT4s. The first driver of the team from Niederzissen is the Czech Josef Knopp, who drove for the Mercedes-AMG racing team for the first time at the ADAC GT4 Germany season finale in Hockenheim.

Deployment of Theo Oeverhaus

In the 2021/2022 GT Winter Series season, the team fielded, among others, Theo Oeverhaus, who celebrated his debut in the DTM during the 2022 season. Oeverhaus had already driven in the Gedlich Racing series in the season before last. He was able to win all the races he contested. However, he was unable to compete in the final race of the season and therefore did not win the title.

Jörg van Ommen competed in the DTM between 1984 and 1996. In Germany’s best-known racing series, van Ommen scored five victories. After his active career, van Ommen was able to set up his own racing team with jvo Racing, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year.

With jvo Racing, van Ommen has been one of the defining faces of the GT Winter Series under various team names. He will make his debut in the 2024 season at the upcoming race weekend on the world-famous MotoGP circuit in Cheste.

jvo Racing will enter a Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo in Valencia, which will compete in the highly competitive Cup 1 class. Gentleman driver Frank Kewitz will drive the car together with his driving coach Kevin Mirocha. In his career, the German-Polish Mirocha has competed in Formula 3, Formula 2 and GP2, among others, and has made an excellent name for himself as a coach in recent years.

BE Motorsport will compete in the GT Winter Series for the third time in the 2022/2023 season.

BE Motorsport and Spanish driver Javier Ibran Pardo have become a permanent fixture in the GT Winter Series. In the 2022/2023 season, the Valencia-born driver will compete in the series for the third time. The veteran will compete with an LMP3 prototype from Ligier. In the past years, he was able to celebrate several podium finishes and a victory in Jerez. In the 2020/2021 season, Ibran Pardo was in the title fight until the last race, but lost it due to a technical defect.

The BE Motorsport team sees itself as the representative of amateur drivers and teams, although the appearance and vehicle preparation certainly meet professional standards. The team has gained a lot of experience with the French prototype from Ligier in recent years.

Sponsor event in Valencia

“I’m particularly looking forward to my home race in Valencia – I think it’s fabulous that the GTWS has extended its season to this great track and attractive location,” says Ibran Pardo, looking forward to the fourth race weekend on the world-famous MotoGP circuit. He is also planning a big sponsor event for the event with many guests.

Kessel Racing was founded by former Formula 1 driver Loris Kessel in 2000. But while Kessel died in 2010 at the age of 60 after a serious illness, his racing team has firmly established itself in the world of GT racing. The Swiss team has enjoyed success in the GT World Challenge Europe and the International GT Open, as well as taking part in the FIA WEC. The team is also a successful participant in the Ferrari Challenge.

The racing team will now make its debut in the GT Winter Series in Jerez and will enter a Ferrari 488 GT3 and a 488 Challenge Evo, which will face strong competition in the Cup 1 class.

The GT3 car will be driven by the Bochez brothers: Alexandre Bochez and Mikael Bochez. After competing in the Ferrari Challenge and the GT Cup Open, the Swiss drivers will now make their GT3 debut in the GT Winter Series. Greek driver Petros Makris will be at the wheel of the one-make cup car.

The British GT4 team Motus One Racing will contest the GT Winter Series season opener in Portimão with two cars.

The grid for the GT Winter Series season opener continues to grow. In Portimão, Motus One Racing will be represented with two Mercedes-AMG GT4s on the grid of the race series, which is organised by Gedlich Racing.. The two cars will compete in the GT4 class.

The British team was a fixture in the GT4 class of British GT in 2022, but has also gained experience in the BTCC or the British Endurance Championship. While the racing team started the 2022 British GT season with the McLaren 570S GT4, Motus One Racing relied for the first time on the Mercedes-AMG GT4 for the final two events, which will also be entered by the team in Portugal.

Perfect preparation

The team will use the start in the GT Winter Series to get to know the Mercedes-AMG GT4 even better and to start the summer season as well prepared as possible. “We are very pleased that international teams also recognise the importance of the GT Winter Series and use the series to prepare themselves in the best possible way for the coming season with us,” says GTWS project manager Robin Selbach happily.

Another Lamborghini Hurácan Super Trofeo EVO2 will compete in the GT Winter Series in Jerez. The spectacular Italian one-make cup cars will compete in the GEDLICH Racing series in the Cup 4 class. Lamborghini Roma by DL Racing will enter the car on the traditional Spanish circuit in Andalusia.

The car will be driven by Ibrahim Badawy from Egypt. The African already competed for the team in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe last year. In a dramatic season finale in Vallelunga, he narrowly missed out on winning the title in the Am class.

Badawy is the first racing driver from the country to compete in both a Formula 4 racing series and the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe. Now he will continue to write history by becoming the first driver from Egypt to compete in the GT Winter Series.

Team Joos by Twin Busch has enriched the GT Winter Series field for many years. At the fourth race weekend of the 2024 season in Valencia, the successful Porsche racing team will compete for the first time in the current season. The team from the Swabian town of Vöhringen will field a 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 R, with which the team narrowly missed out on winning the ADAC GT Masters title in 2023.

The car will be driven by Michael Joos and talented youngster Michael Kapfinger at the circuit, which is world-famous for hosting the annual MotoGP season finale. The team will make another start at the season finale in Barcelona, when Johannes Kapfinger will be on the grid instead of Joos. The second of the Kapfinger twins will not be able to compete in Valencia due to an injury. The racing team will then continue its preparations for the ADAC GT Masters season in Germany from April.

Together with his twin brother Johannes – who won the title in the winter of 2022/2023 – Michael is the discovery of the last GT Winter Series season. Following their successful participation in the GEDLICH Racing series, the two Kapfingers competed successfully in the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse, where they also contested their first race in the Porsche 911 GT3 R from Team Joos by Twin Busch. At the Misano race, the Kapfingers were so convincing that they will compete in the ADAC GT Masters for the Joos racing team this year.

The Porsche Carrera Cup Germany champion Huber Racing will compete in the GT Winter Series in the 2022/2023 season.

Huber Racing from Neuburg am Inn is one of the most successful teams in Porsche one-make series racing. Together with Laurin Heinrich, Christoph Huber’s team won the title in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany in 2022 and also decided the team classification in the prestigious championship in its favour. In addition, the Bavarian racing team won the title in the Open GT Class 40 of the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse with Johannes Kapfinger. The team also celebrated victories in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in 2022.

Together with Johannes Kapfinger, the team is now entering the GT Winter Series. The young talent will drive a 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup for Huber Racing. The combination will compete in the Cup 2 class. Kapfinger will compete in all six events.

Perfect school

The racing team is using the GT Winter Series to give Johannes Kapfinger his first racing experience in the current Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. For the 19-year-old youngster, the races in Gedlich Racing’s popular winter series will be the next step towards the German Porsche Carrera Cup, which is one of the driver’s goals.

Founded in 2011, the MS-Racing team is almost a permanent fixture in the GT Winter Series. So it comes as no surprise that Matthias Stepanek’s racing team will also be competing in the GEDLICH Racing series in winter 2024. And one thing is for sure, the team’s car will stand out at its debut in Portimão!

The team will compete in the Cup 2 class with a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The car will start in a spectacular art design, in which comic figure Dagobert Duck also plays an important role. The motto of the design is clear: “Follow your Dreams”!

The Porsche will be driven by Werner Panhauser and Benedikt Seibt. In Portimão, the two Porsche drivers will face nine competitors in the Cup 2 class, which is once again the strongest in the GT Winter Series field. So the participants and fans can already look forward to exciting duels between the one-make cup cars on the up and downhill track on the Algarve coast!

Phoenix Racing is another renowned team to join the GT Winter Series.

With six overall victories in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring and the DTM titles 2011 and 2013 with Martin Tomczyk and Mike Rockenfeller, Phoenix Racing is one of the most successful teams in German motorsport. Ernst Moser’s racing team has also scored countless other successes in touring car and GT racing.

The team from Meuspath will compete in the GT Winter Series for the first time in the 2022/2023 season. With the Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II, the team will race in the GTR class. “We are very pleased that Phoenix Racing has decided to start in the GT Winter Series,” said GTWS Project Manager Robin Selbach. “We will start the season with a top-class GT3 field and that a team like Phoenix Racing has decided to start with us makes us proud!”

Driver seat open

Florian Blatter has been confirmed as the first driver of Audi’s GT3 car. The Swiss driver will make his GT3 racing debut in the GT Winter Series. Blatter will compete with the car in Portimão, Estoril, Jerez, Valencia and at the season finale in Barcelona.
